In Spain, the Royal Decree 106/2008 regulates the management of used batteries and accumulators. It establishes the obligation for producers to finance the costs of collection, treatment and elimination of waste batteries.
In Germany, the Battery Act (BattG) regulates the sale, return and environmentally sound disposal of batteries. Retailers are obliged to take back used batteries free of charge.
In Hungary, the Act CLXXXV of 2012 on waste regulates the management of waste batteries. It obliges manufacturers and distributors to take back waste batteries and accumulators from consumers free of charge.
